Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Big Thunder Mountain Rail Road opened September 2, 1979 and has become a star attraction in Disneyland in of itself. The ride is a roller coaster ride themed in the 1800’s west during the gold mining era. The ride is fast not too over the top for younger aged children. There is no long, steep, or tall drops. The ride is fun, fun, fun and one you will not want to miss. The ride is designed to look like the hoodoos in Bryce Canyon National Park located in Utah. The design of Big Thunder Mountain truly makes you feel like you really are in the wild west. No detail was left unattended on this ride. It can be hot here during the summer and this is one ride you will want to make sure you hit early or later in the day if you are not a fan of sitting in the heat. The ride line or que does have some shaded areas but depending on the length of the line you could be in the sun.
